Job Summary:
The Repack Line Lead is responsible for the coordination and execution of daily production activities within the Repack department. These activities include pre- and post-shift preparation, team member assignment, and maintaining quality and safety standards while ensuring company production goals are met or exceeded. This position works alongside and serves as a mentor to team members to achieve overall process knowledge and maximize team performance.
A Sample of the Role:
  • Prepares and stages production lines prior to shift start and changeovers, including pre-operation requirements, verification of labels, product quality, process, and set-up of all materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Coordinates and assigns team member positions and daily tasks. Adjusts position assignments and lines to maximize efficiency and achieve production targets. Coordinates team member rotations and finds coverage as needed. Anticipates production challenges and adjusts accordingly.
  • Ensures team members adhere to all HACCP, GMP, SSOP, and SOP requirements, ensuring finished products meet quality and Food Safety standards.
  • Maintains department appearance and organization for optimal productivity and food safety using the 5s principle (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain).
  • Performs audits as required to ensure food is in accordance with customer quality and regulatory requirements. Verifies all reports or documents/data is completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Trains and mentors team members to achieve overall process knowledge and maximize staff flexibility. Provides feedback and observes and reports performance concerns to Repack Supervisor.
  • Operates and performs light maintenance on tools and equipment as required.
  • Oversees and assists with sanitation processes and procedures.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives on production lines to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. Identifies areas for improvement, implement changes, and communicates and monitors results to ensure performance targets are met or exceeded.
  • Performs related work as required. May include assisting employees in a higher position in more complex assignments.
