Position Summary:

A warehouse receiver plays a crucial role in warehouse operations, ensuring that all incoming shipments are accurately received, inspected, and recorded. Their primary responsibilities typically include:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receiving Shipments: Checking and verifying incoming goods against shipping documentation, like packing slips or purchase orders.
  • Inspection: Inspecting the goods for any damage or discrepancies and reporting any issues to management or the vendor.
  • Recording Inventory: Accurately entering received goods into the warehouse's inventory management system.
  • Labeling and Organizing: Labeling received goods and organizing them into their proper storage locations.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with warehouse staff, including forklift operators, pickers, and packers, to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Returns Handling: Processing any returns or exchanges of defective or incorrect items.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are followed during receiving and storing goods.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail
  • Basic math skills required
  • Computer proficiency for inventory systems
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment (pallet jacks and forklifts)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of tasks as needed
  • Ability to work independently or with a team

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Physical requirements include lifting to 50 lbs., bending, standing and climbing
  • Warehouse environment, working around forklifts, pallet jacks, and racking
  • Ability to work on feet, standing or walking, for an entire 8-hour shift
  • Ability to work in environment that is not climate controlled. Temperatures inside the warehouse rise in the summer and fall in the winter
