Position Information
Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Program Manager - TRIO Talent Search Position Number E00198 Department Trio Programs Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary
The Program Manager is responsible for the overall design, implementation, management, planning, coordination and success of the federally funded TRiO Talent Search program. Facilitates the development of activities and programs designed to encourage underrepresented students to overcome barriers to postsecondary education, to improve high school retention and graduation rates, and promote college degree attainment. Works with high school administrators, counselors and staff, representatives of community agencies, TRIO staff and student services areas to ensure the success of the program.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Education, psychology, social services or related field plus four (4) years of experience assisting middle and high school students with college preparation or working with youth programs, with at least three (3) years of experience supervising TRIO or related programs consisting of a student population with diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education/Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Knowledge of TRIO programs.
2. Experience working with students who are first-generation, low-income and/or students with disabilities.
3. Proven success of effective grant administration and writing.
4. Ability to adhere to federal and College policies and procedures.
5. Proven track record of positive student outcomes.
6. Knowledge of youthful behavior and culture.
7. Knowledge of multi-cultural differences and challenges and ability to effectively work and interact with various cultures.
8. Knowledge of budget management

Examples of Duties:
1. Oversees staff and the delivery of service to students annually.
2. Will supervise staff and manage daily operations.
3. Responsible for assisting in preparation of project reports for submission to the U.S. Department of Education and/or college administration;
4. Supervises planning, development, implementation and evaluation of program goals and objectives.
5. Works collaboratively with target high school staff, faculty and parents in program delivery.
6. Recruits prospective students from target high school and middle schools to program.
7. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises and evaluates staff.
8. Meets with parents and students, creating individualized educational plans.
9. Develops, manages and monitors program budget and expenditures.
10. Coordinates marketing and public relations efforts in conjunction with the College.
11. Serves as an internal and external program liaison.
12. Provides quarterly progress reports.
13. Monitors and evaluates program components utilizing student data to meet program goals.
14. Consistently and dependably attends work, activities, and functions as scheduled or assigned.
