Position Description:
Position Summary:
The Part-Time Testing Center Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and operations of the Testing Center during evenings and weekends, including academic testing, entry assessment activities, GED administration, large scale class testing, supervision of staff and day to day functions. This position acts as an assistant reporting to the Manager of the Testing Center.
Supervisory Duties include:
  • Supervise evening and weekend Testing Center operations, including opening and closing procedures, managing student flow, and assisting with scheduling and payment verification for non-student clients.
  • Act as second in command to the Testing Center Manager; provide support as needed.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and delegate work for full-time and part-time staff, and proctors.
  • Intervene and resolve customer complaints from students, faculty, and visitors to ensure a professional service environment; deescalate heightened emotions and move complaints to resolution and reporting.
  • Make independent decisions to resolve concerns of staff, faculty, and customers; report to Manager.
  • Address academic integrity concerns and guide staff through intervention, communication, and reporting.
  • Maintain a secure, professional, and supportive testing environment that promotes integrity and student success.
  • Recommend and assist with implementing improvements to Testing Center operations and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain technical manuals and procedural documentation for Testing Center staff and proctors.
  • Assist with developing informational materials and communications to inform students and faculty about assessment and testing services.
  • Complete special projects to support the Testing Center's accreditation, operations management, and goals.

Secondary Duties include:
  • Administer and proctor both computerized and paper-based examinations in accordance with instructor guidelines, Testing Center procedures, and external agency requirements.
  • Administer placement, make-up, online, group, and standardized tests including ACCUPLACER, ALEKS, CAMLA, GED, TEAS, and other secure or high-level tests.
  • Oversee entry assessment activities, including traditional and nontraditional assessments.
  • Ensure the secure receipt, delivery, storage, administration, return, and reporting of all exam materials and confidential testing information.
  • Maintain a secure, professional, helpful, and courteous testing environment; monitor testing rooms to prevent and detect cheating and misconduct.
  • Detect, document, investigate, and report testing irregularities and academic dishonesty; meet with instructors and academic administrators to resolve cases.
  • Develop and maintain databases, testing records, reports, and documentation; enter and retrieve information using the Testing Center's information system.
  • Provide guidance to test takers by explaining procedures, test results, and score reports.
  • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and outside testing agencies.
  • Obtain and maintain certifications from external testing agencies (e.g., Prometric, ETS, Pearson VUE) to administer secure, revenue-generating exams; complete annual recertification requirements.
  • Identify system errors, create support cases, and collaborate with technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
  • Handle and process confidential candidate information in accordance with security and privacy regulations.
  • Complete special projects to support the Testing Center's accreditation, operations management, and goals.
  • Gather and compile data and prepare semester and annual reports related to Testing Center operations
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
  • Regular attendance on campus is required for this position. Remote work is not available for this position.
  • Must be available to work evenings and Saturdays

Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associate degree required.
  • Equivalent of three (3) years of successful work experience in an educational or business setting.
  • Equivalent of two (2) years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software; familiarity with learning new software.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with students, faculty, and staff across all areas of the College.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team effort.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
