Student Employee - Software Engineering Teaching Assistant (TA)
Job Description
Ensign College is seeking a Software Engineering Teaching Assistant (TA) to support the Software Engineering Bachelor of Applied Science degree. The TA will provide meaningful assistance to faculty in managing new and upcoming courses, help enhance the student learning experience, and contribute to the development of tools and resources used in the program.
As a disciple of Jesus Christ, the TA will serve in a way that exemplifies Gospel-centered principles, uplifts others, and inspires hope. This role also includes promoting the program internally at Ensign College in alignment with approved policies and standards.
Candidates should:
  • Demonstrate dependable attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location.
  • Exhibit strict confidentiality in working with restricted information.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by adhering to a high standard of dress and grooming, including wearing professional business attire.

Job Qualification:
  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student in good academic standing and taking at least 6 credits (3 per block).
  • Current student in one of the IT programs (Cybersecurity or System Administration), or Software Engineering program.
  • Have passed CS 335 - Data Structures & Algorithms with a grade of B or better.
  • Be proficient with the Python programming language, Git, Bash or Zsh, Office 365 and Canvas.
  • Must commit to dependable attendance and timely arrival at the assigned work location.
  • Available to work 15-19 hours per week.
  • Ability to produce effective written correspondence through email and other written communication.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively in the English language, listen and respond appropriately.
  • Highly self-motivated, hard worker, creative, with good attention to detail.
  • Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.

  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits (3 per block) and in good academic standing.
