Summary Statement

The incumbent in this position will oversee the operations of the Delaware Psychiatric Center treatment units. Responsibilities include conducting rounds on Delaware Psychiatric Center treatment units to assure and enforce adherence to hospital policies/procedures and state and federal regulatory standards; coordinating clinical and administrative activities; responding to medical, psychiatric, and environmental emergencies; and promoting a therapeutic milieu based on the principles of the Recovery Model and Trauma Informed Care.\r\n

Job Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Supervisor\r\nApplicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:\r\nNursing Supervisor - Psychiatric Nursing\r\n\r\n At least three years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing OR a Master's degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Psychiatric Nursing.\r\n Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.\r\n Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees.\r\n\r\n

Conditions of Hire

All new hires are required to attend an in-person, statewide mandatory New Employee Orientation on their first day of employment. The session will be held at a designated location in either Kent or New Castle County.\r\nA satisfactory criminal background check is required and must be covered by the applicant, with an estimated cost of $85.00. Pre-employment drug testing is also required. Additionally, all new hires are required to complete a 2-Step TB/PPD test, which will be administered on their first day at the facility. \r\nThis position is a classification organized under an exclusive bargaining representative (labor organization) that has been elected by employees as their representative for collective bargaining and other applicable terms and conditions of employment, in accordance with Title 29, Chapter 59 and Title 19, Chapter 13 and 16.This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement based on its individual terms.\r\nApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
