Job description

This is a seasonal job. It is not a full time position and no benefits are offered.   


Job Summary:
 The Buying Point Operator performs essential hands-on labor to support the efficient movement, curing, and grading of peanuts. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and a willingness to work in a physical, outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and clean conveyors, dryers, dump pits, hoppers, and grading equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols (use of PPE such as hearing/eye protection, dust masks).
  • Assist with trailer unloading, moisture sampling, and trailer movement.
  • Monitor equipment for issues and assist with maintenance and repairs.
  • Perform seasonal cleaning and equipment storage tasks post-harvest.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to perform physical labor (lifting up to 75lbs., bending, climbing).
  • Willingness to work in outdoor, dusty, and hot environments.
  • Basic understanding of equipment operation preferred.
  • Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Work Environment:

  • Mainly outdoors in the yard, or working with farm or large heavy equipment.
  • May require wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and exposure to manufacturing and outdoor conditions.
  • Work at elevated heights, including climbing ladders, and platforms up to 60 ft.
