Job description

About the Role

Rocky Mountain Paddleboard (RMP) is hiring dependable Line Cooks to join our Lakeside Café team at the Boulder Reservoir for the summer season.

This is a straightforward kitchen role focused on executing a fun, summer-inspired menu for guests enjoying a day on the water. You’ll work alongside the Kitchen Lead preparing burgers, hot dogs, fries, and other simple café items while helping keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running smoothly during busy summer weekends.

In addition to daily café service, our kitchen also supports paddle board and athlete events at the Reservoir, where you’ll assist with basic prep and food production based on event menus provided by the team.

Our kitchen operates with a streamlined menu and a team-focused service style, making it a great fit for cooks who enjoy staying active and working in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

This role is also a great opportunity for students or anyone looking for a solid summer kitchen job with consistent hours and no late-night shifts.

At RMP, we operate with our S.T.O.K.E. values — Service, Teamwork, Ownership, Knowledge, and Energy. We’re looking for team members who show up ready to work, support their teammates, and take pride in a clean, organized kitchen.

Schedule

  • Part-time: 15-25 hours per week

  • Thursday–Sunday availability required

  • Great schedule for students on summer break

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare fries and other fryer items

  • Assist with basic food prep and prep lists

  • Maintain food quality and consistency during service

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

  • Keep kitchen stations clean, stocked, and organized

  • Work with the Kitchen Lead to maintain smooth kitchen flow

  • Assist with prep for paddle board and athlete event menus

  • Support general kitchen cleanliness and organization

What We’re Looking For

  • Some kitchen or food service experience preferred (but not required)

  • Comfortable working grill and fryer stations

  • Able to stay organized during busy service

  • Reliable and punctual

  • Team-oriented and willing to help where needed

  • Able to obtain Food Handler or ServSafe certification

Bonus if you:

  • Enjoy working in a summer, lakefront environment

  • Are looking for a seasonal job during school break

Physical Requirements

  • Standing for extended periods

  • Lifting up to 50 lbs

  • Repetitive prep and cooking tasks

  • Occasional outdoor event support

Compensation

  • Part-time seasonal role

  • April–September commitment

Why Work With Us

  • Beautiful Boulder Reservoir location

  • High-energy summer atmosphere

  • Supportive kitchen team

  • Streamlined kitchen operations

  • Great summer job with no late-night kitchen shifts

  • Opportunity to gain experience in a professional kitchen
