Job description

Job Overview:

110 Metalworks is seeking a hands-on individual with a strong CNC machining background to provide technical leadership and manufacturing support across CNC machining, sheet metal, welding, and assembly operations.

This role works closely with production department leaders and their teammates to improve manufacturing processes, troubleshoot production challenges, provide input on manufacturability reviews, and drive continual improvement initiatives.

Working across the organization, this role also partners with estimators, programmers, and engineering teams to provide manufacturing input and support problem-solving efforts. Our success is built on caring, collaboration, and learning together through continual improvement.

Primary Responsibilities:

Production Floor Technical Support

  • Provide daily manufacturing and machining support to production departments
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, setup, and process related issues
  • Support new job launches, prove-outs, and first article production
  • Assist with tooling selection, cutting strategies, and fixture concepts
  • Work directly with operators, programmers, and supervisors to resolve manufacturing challenges

Manufacturing Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Support setup reduction initiatives and standardization efforts
  • Lead continual improvement projects across production operations
  • Develop and improve manufacturing methods and best practices

Cross-Functional Manufacturing Support

  • Support estimators with manufacturing input on complex parts and customer opportunities
  • Support engineering teams with manufacturability reviews and production planning
  • Provide manufacturing input during contract review and production readiness activities
  • Provide technical support to CNC milling and turning programmers

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7–10 years of manufacturing experience
  • Strong CNC machining background required
  • Experience with CNC programming preferred
  • Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, workholding, and manufacturing methods
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex manufacturing issues
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Continual improvement and lean manufacturing experience preferred

Physical Demands:

Frequent walking and standing throughout the manufacturing facility to support production operations. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and climbing stairs. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. Frequent visual focus required for inspecting parts, reviewing technical drawings, machine setups, tooling, and computer screens. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to machine noise, moving equipment, metal chips, cutting fluids, and varying temperatures.
