About Us

Yoon Haeundae Galbi is a premier Korean BBQ restaurant dedicated to delivering authentic flavors, exceptional hospitality, and a refined dining experience. We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef who is passionate about Korean cuisine and committed to leading a high-performing kitchen team.

What You'll Do
  • Lead and oversee all daily kitchen operations.
  • Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Oversee butchering, fabrication, and portioning of premium beef cuts while ensuring maximum yield and quality.
  • Sets an example of a positive, collaborative work environment for both the service and kitchen teams, ensuring clear communication at all times
  • Develop seasonal menus and new dishes while preserving our authentic Korean flavors.
  • Train, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff to achieve high performance.
  • Manage food cost, labor cost, inventory, and purchasing.
  • Ensure that proper systems are in place to ensure back of house operations are kept clean, safe and up to all “A” level health code standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all NYC Department of Health regulations and food safety standards.
  • Create efficient kitchen systems, SOPs, and prep procedures.
  • Collaborate with ownership and management on menu planning, promotions, and special events.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented kitchen culture.

What We're Looking For
  • Several years of Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef experience in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Korean cuisine; Korean BBQ experience is highly preferred.
  • Experience managing food cost, labor cost, inventory, and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to lead under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Food Protection Certification (preferred).
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • English fluency and Spanish/Korean preferred, but not required
  • Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time
  • Open availability including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to ongoing changes.
  • Able to inspire, motivate, and develop employees.
  • Proven track record in building high-performing teams.
  • Professional and confident verbal and written communication with guests, employees and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in upscale Korean BBQ, steakhouse, or fine dining concepts.
  • Fine dining or upscale casual experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Korean (preferred but not required).
  • Passion for innovation while respecting traditional Korean cuisine.
