Sous Chef | Mari.Ne Handroll | New York, NY

Mari NYC is seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who is passionate about food, thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, and is looking to grow their career in a professional dining environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily kitchen operations and service execution

  • Maintain food quality, consistency, and presentation standards

  • Assist with inventory management and ordering

  • Train and mentor kitchen staff

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards

  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and kitchen operations

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong culinary leadership experience

  • Strong English communication skills required

  • Korean language skills preferred

  • Culinary school degree or formal culinary training preferred

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

  • Strong organizational and leadership skills

  • Authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Experience
  • Fine dining or Michelin-level restaurant experience

  • Korean or Asian cuisine experience

  • Experience managing kitchen teams and maintaining high culinary standards
