Job description

Starr Fireworks is hiring dependable, energetic team members for the summer fireworks season. This is a temporary, fast-paced outdoor role that helps customers celebrate one of the biggest holidays of the year. We are looking for people who are friendly, hardworking, safety-minded, and ready to work in a high-energy environment during our busiest days of the season. The application form reflects two primary roles: Cashier (Sales) and Product Runner.
Position Overview
As a Seasonal Fireworks Stand Team Member, you may work in either a customer-facing sales role or a support role helping keep the stand stocked, organized, and running efficiently. Team members must be comfortable working long hours outdoors in summer temperatures, staying alert in a busy environment, and following strict fireworks safety procedures at all times. The busiest and most important workday is July 4, and availability for at least one 6โ€“12 hour shift between 12:00 PM and 12:00 AM is required.
Key Responsibilities
For the Cashier (Sales) role, responsibilities include assisting customers, answering product questions, making recommendations, and handling cash and card transactions accurately at the register. For the Product Runner role, responsibilities include retrieving fireworks from storage, restocking inventory, helping with setup and cleanup, and keeping the stand clean and organized.
Work Environment
This is an outdoor, open-air position with limited air conditioning. Team members should be prepared to stand for long periods and work in temperatures that may exceed 90ยฐF. The role may involve 8โ€“12 hour shifts, especially during peak selling days.
Physical Requirements
Candidates should be physically capable of standing for extended periods, moving quickly in the heat, and performing the physical demands of the role. The form specifically notes lifting requirements of up to 50 pounds for the Product Runner role, while the applicant certification references lifting up to 25 pounds. Since the form contains both figures, I would recommend standardizing this internally before publishing.
Qualifications:
  • Applicants must be at least 16 years old, able to reliably show up on time, and available throughout the busy sales window from June 24 through July 4.
  • Experience in fast-paced or physical work such as warehouse, farm, landscaping, or food truck work is helpful.
  • All team members must commit to following safety rules 100% of the time.

What Weโ€™re Looking For
We want people who are dependable, respectful, physically capable, and excited to help customers celebrate. The right person for this job can stay focused under pressure, work hard in the heat, and contribute to a safe, positive, team-oriented environment.
