Job description

Collier.Simon is an independent, full-service creative agency in the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. We work with our client partners to develop creative solutions that truly move the needle. Clients range from Fortune 500-type household names to up-and-comers across a variety of industries / verticals. Weโ€™re in the midst of a tech-powered transformation, using AI to supercharge creativity, not replace it, and weโ€™re looking for curious minds excited to explore AI as a tool to scale, spark, and speed up creativity.
Our innovation studio is where bold ideas meet real-world impact. We prototype, build, and scale intelligent systems that automate repetitive work and create new efficienciesโ€”combining cutting-edge tech with creative thinking to help teams work smarter, faster, and aim higher.
Weโ€™re looking for a Creative Technologist who lives at the intersection of AI, automation, and creative problem-solving. This isnโ€™t a โ€œI use ChatGPT sometimesโ€ roleโ€”we need someone who understands how large language models actually work, can architect end-to-end workflows, and knows when AI meaningfully saves time versus when itโ€™s just a shiny distraction. Youโ€™ll work directly with the Head of Creative Technology to translate complex creative needs into repeatable, scalable systems.

You Might Be a Fit If Youโ€ฆ

  • You can explain the difference between prompt engineering, context engineering, and fine-tuningโ€”and you know when each matters
  • Youโ€™ve built real workflows that connect AI tools to production pipelines, not just played with individual tools in isolation
  • You think in systems: inputs, outputs, handoffs, edge cases, documentation
  • You can translate a creative teamโ€™s pain points into automated solutions without overengineering
  • Youโ€™re constantly testing new AI models, tools, and platformsโ€”not because itโ€™s trendy, but because you want to understand whatโ€™s actually useful
  • Youโ€™re a clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical teams and vice versa
  • Youโ€™d rather build something that works and hand it off cleanly than hoard knowledge

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain AI-powered workflows that support creative teams across the agency
  • Advise on where AI meaningfully saves time or elevates craftโ€”and push back when it doesnโ€™t
  • Translate creative briefs and production needs into repeatable, documented systems
  • Prototype new tools and processes, test them in real workflows, and hand stable solutions off to production teams
  • Scout and evaluate AI vendors, models, and platformsโ€”separating signal from hype
  • Run creative QA on AI-generated outputs to ensure quality and brand consistency
  • Maintain clear documentation for every tool, workflow, and system you build
  • Act as a buffer between leadership vision and day-to-day execution, keeping work moving and teams unblocked

Requirements

  • 3โ€“5 years of hands-on experience with AI/ML tools, workflow automation, or creative technology
  • Deep understanding of LLMs, generative AI models, and their practical applications in creative work
  • Proven experience with prompt engineering, context window management, and output optimization
  • Experience building automated workflows (Zapier, Make, custom scripts, API integrationsโ€”whatever gets the job done)
  • Strong documentation habitsโ€”you leave things better than you found them
  • Comfort working across disciplines: creative, production, strategy, and engineering
  • Self-directed with strong judgmentโ€”you know when to push forward and when to ask questions
  • Must be available to work standard PST hours

Bonus Points If Youโ€ฆ

  • Have agency or creative production experienceโ€”you understand the pace and the players
  • Can write basic scripts (Python, JavaScript, or similar) to connect tools and automate tasks
  • Have experience with version control, API development, or building internal tools
  • Understand the Figma/Adobe ecosystem and how AI tools integrate with design workflows
  • Have built or managed GPTs, custom AI agents, or similar AI-powered products

What We Offer

  • A collaborative, forward-thinking creative culture where craft, experimentation, and systems thinking are all valued
  • Fully remote work environment with PST-based hours
  • Full-time salary and benefits including healthcare, 401(k), generous PTO, and professional development support

To Apply:

To be considered for this position, please submit your portfolio and resume along with a brief note describing your relevant experience and what excites you about this role.

Benefits

Benefits including healthcare, 401K, vacation/PTO policy to be shared in greater detail during the interview process.
