Job description
About Us:
Falcon Farms is one of the leading fresh cut-flower distributors in the United States. Since 1987, the company has grown in production and commercialization, to 10 flower production farms in Colombia and Ecuador, with more than 700 acres of land and a team of over 5,000 people. The organization's commercial and distribution footprint in Miami, Atlanta, Phoenix, Dallas and Long Beach allows us to service national wholesale and mass market accounts. Current business prospects, and the incorporation of new clients have embarked Falcon on an aggressive path to deepen our regional footprint in the Texas region.
Falcon thrives on a highly entrepreneurial culture and a flat organization that fosters strong collaboration and calculated risk-taking. The nature of an agricultural product like flowers, with high seasonality and subject to variability in factors affecting production, requires high flexibility and the ability to make decisions and adapt to changing circumstances in very short term, while remaining firm on strategy execution.
Position Overview:
The DSD Operations Jr Manager ensures the profitability, efficiency, and service performance of the assigned region. This is a hands-on leadership role that bridges Falcon Farms' production, replenishment, and field operations, aligning day-to-day execution with strategic goals. Responsibilities and expectations:
- Oversee regional P&L and ensure profitability through disciplined cost management and operational execution.
- Define, monitor, and achieve KPI targets (on-time delivery, cost per delivery, inventory accuracy, service levels).
- Collaborate with replenishment and delivery teams to ensure daily product freshness and availability at (POS)
- Manage transportation and route optimization using TMS or similar tools.
- Analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet fluctuating business demands and seasonal peaks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams; recruit and train supervisors and field leaders.
- Act as liaison between field operations and production, coordinating across sales, logistics, and finance.
- Oversee budgeting, expense control, maintenance schedules, and reporting.
- Support field merchandising and store execution, especially during major floral holidays.
- Travel up to 25% for field supervision, audits, and team development.
- Manage end-to-end order processing to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and service compliance.
- Monitor inventory and product flow to minimize waste and maximize sales opportunities.
- Conduct strategic sales and market analysis to guide demand forecasting and logistics priorities.
- Track operational metrics to ensure service consistency.
- Deliver performance reports highlighting key results and recommendations.
- Provide feedback to management and cross-functional teams to enhance process efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Must be bilingual (English – Spanish) written and spoken
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven decision-making.
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, data modeling).
- Skilled in Power BI or similar tools for performance analytics.
- Solid understanding of financial metrics, budgeting, and cost control.
- Proven leadership and team management across multiple locations.
- Highly organized, proactive, and self-managed.
- Flexible schedule - especially during floral holidays.
- Physically able to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Logistics, or related field.
