Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly organized and creative individual to support the execution of game presentation video production for the 2026-2027 NBA Season.
LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP:
  • October 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. (Duration may change because of performance and/or business needs)
  • Mandatory In-Person Internship Development Session. (Monday mornings.)
  • Must be able to work up to 29 hours per week (3-4 days/wk.), which may include nights and weekends as needed.
JOB FUNCTION:
  • Assist the In-Game Entertainment Department with Media Day productions and other video initiatives.
  • Help organize and catalog new content from Media Day, game nights, and video shoots into the content management system.
  • Support the loading, testing, and quality control of new video elements for gameday shows and arena displays.
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions by developing creative concepts for in-arena entertainment and fan engagement.
  • Produce and edit high-quality video content for the in-arena show, ensuring alignment with the creative vision and branding standards.
  • Edit a wide range of video content including player features, sponsor integrations, event recaps, hype videos, interviews, commercials, short-form social content, and long-form storytelling pieces.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (Marketing, Social Media, Corporate Sponsorship) to integrate needs into video content.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration within the creative team and broader organization.
  • Ensure all projects meet technical specifications and maintain high visual and audio standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Editing:
  • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and basic knowledge of video editing workflows.
  • Understanding basic color correction, audio mixing, and sound design.
  • Experience with motion graphics software (Blender, Cinema 4D) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with media management, project organization, and exporting deliverables in proper formats.
Camera/Equipment:
  • Experience operating cameras and using stabilizers, gimbals, and sliders is a plus.
  • Understanding of lighting setups for interviews and cinematic video production is a plus.
  • Familiarity with on-set audio recording equipment (lavaliers, boom mics, recorders) is a plus.
General
  • Strong understanding of frame rates, codecs, resolution formats, and other video production technical specifications.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects and assets.
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to take directions, accept feedback, and adjust creative work accordingly.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Ability to attend all Mavs home games and other events as needed
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Must be a current college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior majoring in Film, Videography, Media Arts, Broadcast Media, Motion Design, Motion Graphics, or related field.
(If applying for college credit you must be able to provide proof that credit will be earned toward your course of study (from school/registrar).
  • Previous experience working in professional, collegiate, or high school sports production is highly preferred.
  • Passion for sports, live entertainment, and creative storytelling.
  • Must provide examples of work and include a link to your portfolio
