Job description

The Office of Admission at the University of Southern California is looking for seasonal readers for the upcoming first year and transfer admission cycles for both domestic and international applicants. This fully virtual position runs from October through March (with the option to extend through May for those interested in helping with our transfer admission process), with an expectation of 10-15 hours per week of application review. Every Monday during reading season, 50-75 files will be assigned to each reader and will be due Sunday evening.

We prefer candidates with prior experience in college admission. For those interested in helping with the review of our international applicants, we will look for experience working with students enrolled at high schools abroad.

Seasonal readers will have specific training sessions and videos to watch throughout October, as well as question and answer zoom sessions before reading season begins. There will be regular check-ins and a dedicated slack channel for questions throughout reading season.

Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident and residing in the United States. Those currently employed full-time by college or university admission offices or who have children applying to USC as first-year or transfer students in the current admission cycle are not eligible.
