It involves optimizing website content, structure, and technical elements to increase organic (unpaid) traffic. SEO strategies include keyword research, on-page optimization, link building, and improving user experience. The goal is to make a website more attractive to search engines and users, ultimately driving more relevant visitors. Effective SEO helps businesses reach potential customers who are actively searching for related products or services.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a search engine optimization (SEO) specialist?

To thrive as a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist, you need a solid grasp of keyword research, on-page and off-page optimization, analytics, and content strategy, often supported by a marketing degree or relevant certification. Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress are typically expected. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you interpret data and coordinate with writers and web developers. These skills ensure improved website visibility, increased organic traffic, and measurable business growth in a competitive digital landscape.

How does a search engine optimization (SEO) professional typically collaborate with content creators and web developers?

SEO professionals work closely with content creators to ensure that written materials are optimized for relevant keywords, user intent, and search engine guidelines. They also collaborate with web developers to implement technical improvements, such as site speed enhancements, structured data, and mobile optimization. Job description

As the Digital Marketing Manager, you will manage digital marketing strategies that advance Community First's mission to serve our members - building and maintaining our website and marketing communication tools, monitoring performance through analytics, and driving speed to market for new product launches and critical communications.
This role blends hands-on technical execution with strategic insight, serving as the go-to for translating credit union initiatives into intuitive user flows and high-converting landing pages, while managing site architecture, quality assurance, accessibility standards, and SEO strategy.
As the Digital Marketing Manager with CFCU, you will:
  • Build and maintain our digital presence. Collaborate with creative, copywriters, and product marketing to manage onsite content for communityfirstcu.com and third-party sites supporting campaigns, events, promotions, and new product launches, and wireframe and build content with a mobile-first approach.
  • Uphold technical standards. Maintain site architecture, quality assurance, and accessibility standards, and develop relationships with website technical partners alongside the marketing technology and communications team.
  • Turn data into direction. Collaborate across digital, communications, product marketing, and advertising teams to monitor and optimize the member digital journey, develop a KPI framework and analytics tagging recommendations, and measure digital KPIs across paid and owned platforms.
  • Tell the story behind the numbers. Translate complex campaign and digital landscape metrics into clear recommendations, report on campaign performance across channels and web properties, and identify meaningful success metrics to guide data-driven decisions.
  • Own our SEO strategy. Plan, implement, and manage SEO strategy, including web marketing, analytics, content strategy, link building, and keyword research, and continually improve Digital Certainty Index scores through SEO, accessibility, and user experience improvements.
  • Keep improving. Maintain and refine digital campaign guidelines and processes, perform SEO and content audits, and review and remediate technical SEO issues.

We are looking for a combination of:
  • Bachelor's degree in digital marketing, business, or a related field strongly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will always be considered.
  • 3+ years of corporate or agency digital marketing experience.
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Front-end development skills within a DXP, preferably Kentico 12 or Kentico Xperience.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills; technical documentation experience a plus.
  • Expert-level proficiency with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, and Siteimprove.
  • Proven success developing and managing SEO strategies and digital marketing plans.
  • Experience with SEO tools such as Google Search Console, Moz, Screaming Frog, or Ubersuggest.
  • Current knowledge of SEO, analytics, social, and digital marketing trends.
  • Experience with software testing, user acceptance testing, and accessibility practices.
