Job description

Summary: Drives truck with a capacity of more than 25 tons, to transport materials to and from specified destinations, by performing the following duties.

Pay: $32.00 - $40.00 per hour DOE
Overtime Available: Paid at time and a half
$2,500 signing bonus paid on the 1st paycheck issued
$2,500 retention bonus after 90 days of employment (must meet attendance and expectations set)
Job Type: Full-Time
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program
  • Review load boards and verify scheduled deliveries and pickups
  • Inspect truck and equipment prior to use
  • Inspect materials to ensure accuracy with shipping documentation
  • Determine load readiness and make adjustments for safety and compliance
  • Properly secure loads for transport
  • Deliver and pick up materials according to assigned routes
  • Work efficiently and manage time effectively
  • Maintain respectful and professional interactions with others
  • Ensure accuracy and quality in all work; identify opportunities for improvement
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner

Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Education/Experience
  • CDL Class A driver's license and completed truck driving courses with a certificate of completion with at least two-year related experiences and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Language Ability
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
    Math Ability
  • Ability to add and subtract and read a tape measure
    Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    Computer Skills
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Eroadโ„ข software or the wiliness to learn.
