Job description

Shift: 2nd, Monday-Friday 4 PM - 12 AM

Summary/Objective:  

The Conversion Seamer Operator is responsible for Safe and efficient operation of production machinery including primarily Seamers, but possibly including other equipment as needed.

Specific Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Conduct daily safety inspection of work area and addresses noted issues
  • Prepares production supplies including tape, cores, and solvent
  • Conducts daily inspection and preventative maintenance of machinery
  • Conducts general set up of production machinery
  • Installs plates, rollers, guides, blades, and related equipment on machinery
  • Reads job specification sheet to determine job requirements
  • Enters tolerances and parameters into machine computer
  • Loads, centers, and webs product into proper machine
  • Maintains proper speeds and settings of machinery throughout shift
  • Routinely checks product samples against job specifications
  • Conducts Quality procedures including inspection of finished goods for quality defects
  • Completes required paperwork for each job
  • Packs finished product for shipment to customer
  • Cleans up machine and work area
  • Meets production and quality goals
  • Assists in training of new employees
  • Assists with other tasks as needed
  • Complies with all Plant Rules
  • All other appropriate duties as assigned by the management team

Reports to: Conversion Department Supervisor

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Able to move and lift to 50 lbs.
  • Able to reach and bend
