Job Summary:
Sets up and operates equipment to seam printed sleeve labels as per job jacket instructions. Must be able to set up and produce according to standards and pre-determined production times.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates the behaviors of punctuality, regular attendance, professionalism towards supervisors and co-workers, and self-directed task completion.
  • Maintains clean work area.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook Policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Works normal shift hours and overtime as required.
  • Coordinates efforts as part of the team to provide assistance to all co-workers in all departments to maximize production efficiencies as needed.
  • Must have the ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1 mm.
  • Trains co-workers and new hires to set up, operate and use equipment.
  • Receives and reviews job jackets, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Secures approvals before running job and then solves problems to ensure quality is excellent. Secures help as needed.
  • Sets up, maintains, troubleshoots and breaks down jobs on the seamer.
  • Regularly monitors seamed product for correct lay flat size and verifies seam is closed.
  • Cuts sample of seamed material from end of seamed roll and inspects for imperfections, in print, lay flat size, seam, etc.
  • Maintains accurate data entries for all rolls produced.
  • Prepares production records, reports, timesheets, etc.
  • Operates hand truck, and hand tools.
  • Maintains all equipment by performing routine maintenance and cleaning.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with co-workers.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to address issues involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas, information and or work assignments with co-workers and management as needed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.
  • Ability to read a standard ruler to 1/32" and a metric ruler to 1mm.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
Frequently required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch and talk or hear.
Frequently lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds overhead, frequently lift and/or lower up to 50 pounds at high or medium height and push/pull up to 200 pounds.
Requires constant movement and bending.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, dust, chemicals and vibration.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
