What does a seafood packer do?

A Seafood Packer is responsible for preparing, packaging, and labeling seafood products for distribution and sale. Their duties often include inspecting seafood for quality, weighing and sorting items, and ensuring products are packed according to food safety standards. They may also operate packing machinery, maintain cleanliness in the work area, and follow strict hygiene protocols to prevent contamination. This role is essential in ensuring that fresh and frozen seafood reaches consumers in optimal condition.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a seafood packer?

To thrive as a Seafood Packer, you need attention to detail, manual dexterity, and basic knowledge of food safety, often supported by a high school diploma or equivalent.
