Position Overview:

As a Seafood Clerk, you’ll assist in preparing, stocking, and presenting seafood products while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll ensure freshness, cleanliness, and compliance with food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Stock, rotate, and display fresh and frozen seafood products
  • Monitor product freshness and ensure proper storage and temperature control
  • Clean and sanitize seafood cases, equipment, and prep areas regularly
  • Package, weigh, and label seafood items accurately
  • Assist customers with seafood selection, cooking tips, and special requests
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures
  • Unload and organize seafood deliveries
  • Support department manager and coworkers as needed


Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Friendly and professional with strong customer service skills
  • Comfortable handling raw seafood and working in wet, cold environments
  • Willing to obtain a food handler permit (McKeever’s will assist)
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for extended periods (4–8 hour shifts)
  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and use of hands for cutting, wrapping, and packaging
  • Work in cold and damp conditions
