Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver software implementation and development project(s) or program(s) that span across single or multiple departments/clients. This role will manage resources, schedules, and financials for several major initiatives simultaneously while adhering to SDLC control guidelines throughout the full systems development life cycle. The Project Manager has the authority to run the project(s) or program(s) on a day to day basis and is responsible for ensuring that quality deliverables are produced within the specified constraints of time and cost. They will possess knowledge of the larger landscape without neglecting granular details while tracking project health, staying alert for risks, and resolving issues as they arise. The Project Manager will also contribute to process improvement initiatives that relate to improving project delivery.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Manage all aspects of several major projects or programs of related projects to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
  • Understand, respect, and address interdependencies between technology, operations, and business needs; prioritize efforts in coordination with management
  • Identify and request staffing needs for project teams of 5-25 members in coordination with resources and managers
  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with project and program leaders/stakeholders
  • Provide clear and concise status reporting of milestones, deliverables, dependencies, decisions, risks, and issues to various audiences, including leadership
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and analyze impacts of changes to business requirements and scope; communicate and plan for approved project change orders
  • Monitor, track, and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies, and critical path deliverables
  • Manage risk & quality as it impacts projects, including implications to clients and internal teams
  • Provide leadership by motivating and guiding team members to meet goals and adhere to responsibilities and milestones
  • Plan for and manage smooth handoff of projects to appropriate business areas/clients, including training provisions when needed
  • Ensure adherence to the SDLC from discovery/initiation through implementation
  • Maintain a client-service approach and uphold company values
  • Ensure consistent use of project management standards, templates, and documentation
  • Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to remove roadblocks and maintain project momentum
  • Partner with product, engineering, and operations to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and resource allocation

  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships to expand and mature project and program management capabilities
  • Research best practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark metrics and apply continuous improvement disciplines
  • Participate in and/or drive feasibility studies, vendor selections, and proposals for evaluation by key stakeholders
  • Represent and support the project management team on corporate change management initiatives
  • Participate in team and company meetings and activities
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing by documenting lessons learned and promoting best practices across teams
