Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead and oversee complex technology projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Agile methodologies, enterprise software implementation, and IT infrastructure management. This role demands strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication skills to ensure successful project delivery aligned with organizational goals. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage resources and schedules, and facilitate stakeholder engagement to ensure successful project outcomes. They will have a keen instinct for moving efforts forward in a collaborative and productive manner, and will be ready and willing to weigh in to assist teams where needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end project management for technical solutions, including enterprise software implementations, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, platform enhancements, upgrades, data updates, integrations and others, using situationally-appropriate life cycles and methodologies.
  • Develop detailed project plans using Jira and similar project management tools. Ensure scopes and approaches are fully understood by all stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies and planning sessions including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, grooming sessions, retrospectives, and release planning.
  • Gather and analyze requirements through effective requirements gathering techniques; define User Stories and translate business needs into technical specifications with the support of technical teams and SMEs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal technical teams and SMEs to develop work levels of effort, cost estimates and project budgets. Ensure vendor SOWs will be effective and beneficial.
  • Direct and monitor teams' efforts on a regular basis. Manage schedules, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation using project scheduling tools for tracking progress.
  • Identify, track, measure, and report on key project milestones. Ensure systems of record for project reporting are kept current.
  • Manage and monitor project risks with appropriate responses and contingency plans, including disaster recovery strategies.
  • Facilitate communication among stakeholders at all levels, including technical teams, business units, and executive leadership, to ensure transparency and stakeholder engagement; prepare status reports, presentations, and documentation.
  • Apply Change Management methods to ensure effective stakeholder transitions through change journeys with minimal impact.
  • Coordinate with IT Infrastructure and Operations teams to ensure seamless transition of technology solutions into Orgill's technology ecosystems.
  • Ensure adherence to project management and enterprise architecture best practices.
  • Promote governance standards and compliance throughout project lifecycles; support organizational initiatives for IT strategy and enterprise architecture.

Success Factors: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • A proven track record of successfully planning, implementing and deploying technical projects, including enterprise implementations.
  • Proven expertise in Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe and Kanban; strong understanding of Scrum practices.
  • Extensive experience with project management software including Jira, Wrike, and similar tools, and their use in tandem with documentation tools such as the Google Workspace suite.
  • Ability to configure and customize Jira dashboards, workflows, and plugins to meet project requirements.
  • Conversant and practiced in up-to-date Project Management Life Cycle methods and frameworks, with knowledge of both agile and traditional project management practices, project artifacts and documentation standards.
  • Solid understanding of information technology architecture, platforms and concepts, including SDLC, cloud computing, IT infrastructure, databases and integrations.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex technical issues, and interpret/convey them to a non-technical audience.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams; strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills for stakeholder engagement at all levels; adept at negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization, effectively build interpersonal relationships, and achieve alignment across a wide range of functions and constituents.
  • Sound grasp of key business drivers and considerations in the technical domains.
  • Flexibility and versatility to succeed in a dynamic work environment.
  • Experience in the Distribution, Warehousing and/or Retail industries - Preferred.
  • Software Development Life Cycle and DevOps experience - Preferred
  • Formal Agile and/or conventional project management certification: CSM, CSPO, SAFe, PMP or PMI-ACP - Advantageous.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading technical projects
  • Advanced Jira expertise, able to configure and customize Jira dashboards, workflows, and plugins
  • Experienced with Jira, Clickup, MS Project, Wrike or similar project and issue tracking tools
  • Experience in Wholesale, Retail, and/or Distribution Warehousing
  • Excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing
  • Excellent customer service skills and delivery
  • Exceptional organization and time management skills
  • Able to work in a team environment and unsupervised
