How much do script reader jobs pay per hour?

As of Jul 19, 2026, the average hourly pay for script reader in Florida is $14.76, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $11.68 and $16.15 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Script Reader, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Script Reader, you need a strong background in storytelling, critical analysis, and often a degree in film, literature, or a related field. Familiarity with industry-standard script formatting software (like Final Draft) and coverage templates is commonly required. Exceptional written communication, attention to detail, and a keen sense for narrative structure and character development are standout soft skills. These abilities are essential for providing insightful script coverage and helping producers identify promising projects.

What are some common challenges faced by script readers, and how can they be managed?

Script readers often face the challenge of managing a high volume of scripts while maintaining objectivity and providing detailed, constructive feedback. Staying organized and developing a clear evaluation checklist can help ensure consistency and efficiency. Additionally, balancing time between reading, analyzing, and writing coverage is crucial, as deadlines are often tight. Networking within the industry and regularly discussing scripts with colleagues can provide valuable perspective and prevent burnout.

What Does a Script Reader Do?

As a script reader, your primary duties are to read, review, and provide coverage analysis and detailed notes of scripts. Typically, when a writer sends an agent or a studio a new screenplay, it is first screened by a script reader. Your responsibilities are to assess whether the script may be a viable film option for the agent or producer. You may choose to reject the screenplay or send the script to the agent or producer. If you work at an agency, the ultimate goal is either for the agent to sign the screenwriter and sell the script, or for the agent to attach their own talent to the screenplay and persuade a producer or studio to make the film. At a studio, the producer advocates for the script rather than the agent.

What are Script Readers?

Script Readers are professionals who review screenplays, teleplays, or other written scripts to evaluate their potential for production. They provide coverage, which is a detailed report that includes a summary, analysis, and recommendation about the script's strengths and weaknesses. Script Readers play a crucial role in helping studios, production companies, and agencies decide which projects to pursue. Their feedback can influence whether a script moves forward in the development process or is passed over.

What is the difference between Script Reader vs Script Supervisor?

AspectScript ReaderScript Supervisor

Job description

$37,000–$100,000/year (base + bonuses) | Full-time, M–F | In-person

Atlantic TRT is a fast-growing telehealth clinic helping men reclaim their energy, focus, and confidence through testosterone replacement therapy and hormone optimization. We're expanding our team and looking for a driven, personable Patient Onboarding Specialist to be the first real conversation a new patient has with us — and the reason they follow through.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

This is a sales role wearing a healthcare hat. You'll be the voice that turns curious leads into committed patients:

  • Call and text prospective patients to kick off their onboarding
  • Walk them through the process — labs, telehealth visits, treatment planning — and handle their questions and hesitations
  • Collect health and lifestyle info and get intake forms completed
  • Follow up (and follow up again) until patients complete every required step
  • Keep clean, accurate records in our CRM
  • Hand off smoothly to our clinical team once a patient is ready

What Success Looks Like

You're closing conversations, not just having them. You hit your follow-up cadence without patients feeling chased. You can talk comfortably about sensitive health topics without making people feel judged or rushed.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in sales or client-facing roles — health, wellness, or service-based sales is a big plus, but we'll take a proven closer from any industry
  • Strong phone presence and real listening skills (not a script-reader)
  • Comfortable with a performance-driven pace and comp structure
  • Organized enough to manage dozens of patient workflows at once
  • Genuine interest in men's health, wellness, or telehealth is a plus, not a requirement

Compensation & Benefits

  • $37,000–$100,000/year — base salary plus uncapped bonuses
  • Paid training — we set you up to actually hit your numbers
  • Paid time off
  • Real advancement path as we scale nationally — this isn't a dead-end seat

Why Atlantic TRT

We're growing fast and building the team now, which means early hires grow with us. You'll have autonomy, a real product people genuinely need, and a comp plan where your effort shows up in your paycheck.

Apply today if you're a strong communicator who can sell a process people are nervous about — and make them feel good about saying yes.

Application Question(s):

  • What experience do you have in the health and wellness industry?
  • Tell us about your background in a sales position — what did you sell, and how did you perform against goal?
