Job description

Are you a seasoned engineer who loves building cloud‑native applications from the ground up? The Gordon Technology Services Limson Team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help spearhead the evolution of our core client BackOffice system. In this pivotal role, you will be a driving force behind the design, development, and deployment of a brand‑new, modern web application built entirely within our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem. You will sit at the intersection of innovation and execution—writing clean, resilient code, optimizing system performance, and helping shape the future‑proof solutions that drive our business forward.

Responsibilities
  • Develop programs or scripts according to specification and established coding standards.
  • Analyze, review, and test for accuracy and optimal implementation of developed solutions.
  • Analyze current business systems, determine scope and estimate tasks related to issues to be resolved.
  • Perform integrated testing of systems for accuracy, reliability, and optimal performance.
  • Construct various software components and validate completeness and quality.
  • Coordinate development efforts, and assist with code reviews.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards for programs or scripts.
  • Mentor Associate or Intermediate software engineers.
  • Analyze and resolve program/script or system failures.
  • Facilitate formal code reviews for programs/scripts.
  • Perform software system maintenance, support, and requirement analysis.

Schedule & Work Environment

Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hybrid schedule: four days in office in Wyoming, MI, or Atlanta, GA, with one day remote.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
  • Five or more years of related software development experience (required).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, plus strong organizational and problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Ability to multi‑task, prioritize, and work independently or within a team environment.
  • Experience developing solutions to complex problems requiring ingenuity and innovation, ensuring consistency with organizational objectives.
Backend Development Skills
  • Strong Java (current LTS) with deep experience in Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem—Spring MVC, REST, Spring Data/JDBC, Spring Security.
  • Relational data modeling on PostgreSQL (Cloud SQL).
  • Building and consuming RESTful web services in a microservices architecture.
Cloud & DevOps Skills
  • Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform, AWS, or Azure.
  • Build tooling with Maven or similar.
Frontend Development Skills
  • Proficiency in TypeScript (strict) / modern JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Component development with Angular or React.
Testing & Quality Skills
  • Test‑first discipline using JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ for unit testing.
  • Frontend/E2E testing with Playwright, WebdriverIO, or similar.
  • Commitment to code quality using SonarQube/SonarCloud and static analysis (ESLint).
Preferred / Nice to Have
  • CI/CD and source control with GitLab.
