Job description

Silkscreen and Label Job Description

Job Description:

As a screen printer, you will be responsible for creating the printing design pattern, mixing the correct ink colors, loading the screen onto the printer, producing the final printed articles, oven curing and cleaning the machine after each Jobs. All the screens will be applied to various metals including some raw and mainly powder coated parts. In addition to screen printing, some customer requirements are labels to be printed out and applied to their specific parts, you will be responsible for creating labels using (Adobe Illustrator/Labelview/Bartender) software.

Responsibilities:

  • Receiving job travelers for screen printing.
  • Examine work orders to determine estimated quoted times and be able to read blueprints drawings.
  • Be able to mix ink if required for custom color.
  • Exposing the image onto a screen using the screen exposure machine.
  • Selecting screen size per drawing, degreasing agents, and emulsion coatings.
  • Installing and repositioning screens and making fixtures to allow for screens to be applied on accurately per the drawing.
  • Running screens and performing quality checks throughout the process.
  • Troubleshooting problems as they arise.
  • Creating and making labels using (Adobe Illustrator/Labelview/Bartender) software

Requirements:

  • Previous work experience as a screen printer, preferably from the T-Shirts industry (3-5 years)
  • Must be a team player.
  • Abide by all safety policies.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • High level of creative and artistic skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work with ink and chemicals every day.
  • Ability to manually operate large machinery.
  • Ablity to work Saturday if needed.
