To thrive as a Screen Printer, you need attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a basic understanding of color theory, usually supported by on-the-job training or vocational courses. Familiarity with screen printing presses, drying equipment, and design software like Adobe Illustrator is commonly required. You will often collaborate closely with graphic designers to understand design specifications and with production assistants to manage workflow and deadlines. Attention to detail and good communication are essential, as you'll need to spot printing errors and coordinate with quality control to meet production standards. The work environment is typically hands-on and fast-paced, requiring both technical skill and teamwork.

What is a screen?

Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM–4:30 PM
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour, based on experience

About 425 Apparel

425 Apparel is a growing custom apparel and merchandise company specializing in screen printing, embroidery, custom manufacturing, headwear, and branded merchandise.

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Screen Printer to join our production team. This is a hands-on, full-time position for someone who takes pride in their craft, works efficiently, and understands what it takes to consistently produce high-quality printed apparel in a fast-paced production environment.

Position Responsibilities

The Screen Printer will be responsible for producing high-quality screen-printed garments while helping maintain an efficient, organized production environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and operate screen-printing equipment
  • Print single-color and multi-color designs
  • Properly register screens and maintain accurate print placement
  • Mix and prepare inks as needed
  • Understand proper ink coverage, pressure, curing, and print quality
  • Load and unload garments efficiently
  • Inspect garments throughout production for print consistency and defects
  • Follow work orders, artwork specifications, garment counts, and production instructions
  • Maintain consistent quality from the first garment through the completion of the order
  • Assist with screen setup, breakdown, cleaning, and reclaiming as needed
  • Maintain printing equipment and keep work areas clean and organized
  • Accurately track production quantities, misprints, and completed orders
  • Meet daily production expectations and deadlines
  • Communicate immediately with management regarding production or quality issues
  • Assist other members of the production team when needed

Experience & Qualifications

Previous professional screen-printing experience is strongly preferred.

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

  • Automatic and/or manual screen-printing presses
  • Multi-color registration
  • Plastisol and other common screen-printing inks
  • Flash curing and conveyor dryers
  • Proper curing temperatures and techniques
  • Different garment materials and how they affect printing
  • Production-based screen printing and larger-volume orders
  • Identifying and correcting common print-quality issues

What We're Looking For

We want someone who is:

  • Dependable and punctual
  • Detail-oriented
  • Quality-driven
  • Comfortable working in a production environment
  • Able to work efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Able to follow detailed production instructions
  • Comfortable standing for extended periods
  • Able to safely lift and move boxes of apparel and production materials
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to take ownership of their work
  • Focused on keeping production on schedule

Compensation

$20.00–$25.00 per hour

Starting pay will be determined based on previous screen-printing experience, technical ability, production knowledge, and overall skill level.

Experienced candidates who can confidently step into production, operate equipment, troubleshoot issues, and consistently produce retail-quality work will be considered toward the higher end of the pay range.

Schedule

Monday–Friday
8:30 AM–4:30 PM

This is a full-time, in-person production position.

Join 425 Apparel

We're building a production team around people who care about craftsmanship, consistency, and getting the job done right. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of a growing apparel company—not someone simply looking for another short-term production job.

If you have professional screen-printing experience and take pride in producing quality work, we'd like to hear from you.
