What Makes a FirstCash Scrap Processing Clerk?:
Position has the primary responsibility for processing excess scrap jewelry sent in by the shops. This includes ensuring that proper credit is given, while maintaining an acceptable production rate and minimal defect rate.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Understanding of jewelry and precious metals
  • Basic diamond evaluation skills
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Good administration and organizational skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of V2 system
Principle Challenges:
Maintaining an acceptable production rate while assuring accuracy within the work, and controlling inventory
Essential Job Duties:
  • Process scrap/excess jewelry sent in from the shops through the V2 system
  • Verify diamond authenticity
  • Verify precious metal authenticity
  • Identify and process missing/extra pieces
  • Record description edits on transfer document and the Excel cover sheet
  • Record precious metal weights on Excel Scrap Log
  • File all daily scrap worksheets
  • Ability to file PDF documents by electronic means
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area
