 The Scrap Review Specialist supports foundry operations by reviewing scrap castings, identifying salvageable product, and ensuring castings meet customer specifications or machining stock allowances. This role documents defects, highlights trends, assists with basic root-cause identification, and supports training and quality-alert activities.

What You'll Do:

 

  • Review scrap castings and determine salvageability based on customer specifications and machining stock allowances.
  • Classify casting defects and document findings with clear photos and accurate data entry.
  • Track scrap trends and provide organized summaries to production, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Assist with basic root-cause identification for recurring defects.
  • Help train production employees on scrap classification and defect identification.
  • Support quality alerts and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain organized scrap logs, documentation, and scrap-handling areas.
  • Follow all foundry safety and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Exhibit superior safety practices every day always evidenced by outstanding housekeeping.
  • Extend treatment to all other employees of the Company as individuals with the courtesy and dignity shown to customers.
  • Exceed customer quality and service expectations through attention to detail.
  • Exercise maximum care to protect the environment by fostering and supporting responsible operating procedures.
  • Secure proper tools for each task.
  • Communicate suggestions and recommend solutions to problems to provide for an efficient operation.

What We Need from You:

  • Significant Experience in a foundry environment preferred (5+ years)
