Job description

The Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for providing timely, accurate reports to the Merchandising Team, using standardized reporting processes. Creates and coordinates purchase order process for all product lines, promotional and regular price events, and store transfer requests for all product categories. Assists in building ad-hoc data analysis using spreadsheets and query tools.
Essential Functions:
  • Coordinates, creates and manages transfers for cross departmental Scout Shop Programs (New Stores, Camp Schools, Jamboree, etc.).
  • Serves as point of contact for Scout Shop inventory and pricing Issues.
  • Consolidates store product requests into master file and determines actions to be taken.
  • Reviews back-orders and follows up with Merchandise Planners to advise of merchandise needs. Ensures timely reaction and adjustment of order quantities to maximize sales and inventory productivity.
  • In conjunction with the Merchandise Planners, completely and accurately creates and processes purchase orders (PO's) for all product categories. Updates and processes all purchase order quantities, expected due dates and vendor default settings as changes occur.
  • Creates and maintains promotional and regular price change events. Ensures all events are audited to ensure 100% accuracy before providing to Sales department.
  • Liaisons with vendors, Buyers and Merchandise Planners to timely and accurately manage and maintain product cost changes.
  • Provides accurate and timely reports on regularly scheduled basis to Merchandising team. Writes queries, forms and reports based on pre-defined business requirements. Validates query results to previously issued/source data to ensure consistent result and value.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in retail/merchandising or supply-chain experience; demonstrated PO processing and basic reporting.
  • Knowledge of PO workflows, transfers, backorder management, pricing events, and inventory productivity metrics; familiarity with spreadsheet modeling, basic query logic, and how source data maps to operational reports and Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
  • Experience with creating, editing, and auditing PO's; updating quantities, due dates, and vendor defaults; coordinating cost changes with vendors and product managers; building and validating scheduled and ad-hoc reports; writing and test queries; reconciling query outputs to source systems to ensure accuracy; consolidating store requests, managing transfers, reviewing backorders, and recommending order adjustments to maximize sales and inventory turns.
  • Ability to ensure 100% accuracy for promotional and price-change events and for all audit checkpoints before release to sales; manage multiple product categories, PO cycles, and reporting deadlines in a fast-paced retail calendar; learn and apply merchandising systems, query tools, and spreadsheet functions quickly to support reporting and PO processes; document standard operating procedures, identify process gaps, and propose practical efficiency improvements.
  • Experience with retail ERP or merchandising systems, SQL or query-builder exposure, and a track record of improving inventory productivity or reporting accuracy is preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Employee will be in office during training and onboarding period, with potential to transition to a hybrid work schedule.
Compensation:
Position is FLSA Non-Exempt. Hourly pay range is $24.04 - $26.44
Benefits-eligible upon hire.
