ActioNet has an immediate opportunity for a Deputy Program Manager - AI, Data Science & Cloud Solutions supporting Federal Civilian. This role is a full-time position that requires a Public Trust High (US Citizenship to be eligible). Hybrid work with travel to Vienna, VA and Suitland, MD.
This strategic leadership role combines program management, technical solution delivery, customer engagement, and business growth responsibilities across the program to strengthen our AI, Data Science, Cloud, and Digital Transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate is a trusted advisor who can engage executive stakeholders, identify new opportunities, shape innovative solutions, and drive customer buy-in while leading successful delivery of complex federal IT programs.
The Deputy Program Manager will serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) for contract performance and customer engagement, overseeing multidisciplinary teams supporting cloud modernization, AI/ML initiatives, enterprise data platforms, cybersecurity, infrastructure operations, and digital transformation programs. This role requires a strong balance of technical leadership, operational excellence, strategic planning, and customer relationship management.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as a Point of Contact (POC) for all contract services, deliverables, and customer engagements.
  • Support large-scale Federal IT, Cloud, AI, and Data Science programs supporting enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with government executives, technical stakeholders, and business leaders.
  • Identify, shape, and help capture new business opportunities, task orders, and growth initiatives within existing customer environments.
  • Collaborate with customers to develop strategic roadmaps for AI adoption, cloud transformation, data modernization, and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide leadership and direction to project managers, architects, engineers, data scientists, and technical delivery teams.
  • Support development and operationalization of AI/ML models, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and data visualization capabilities.
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, technical execution, compliance requirements, and operational outcomes.
  • Manage enterprise modernization efforts involving AWS, Azure, hybrid cloud, data lakes, enterprise analytics, and digital services.
  • Oversee Agile delivery processes, DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD automation, and ITIL-based operational support environments.
  • Ensure projects adhere to ActioNet's Quality Management System, program governance frameworks, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement standardized reporting, KPI dashboards, executive briefings, and program performance metrics.
  • Monitor program schedules, budgets, staffing plans, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.
  • Serve as the escalation point for technical, operational, and customer-related issues and drive issues to resolution.
  • Manage program financial performance including forecasting, staffing, subcontractor coordination, and profitability objectives.
  • Lead customer presentations, technical strategy discussions, and executive-level program reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal business units, delivery teams, capture teams, and external partners to ensure program success and growth alignment.
  • Mentor and develop project managers and technical leaders while fostering a collaborative, innovation-focused culture.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, operational efficiency, customer experience, and service quality.
  • Travel as required to support customer engagement, program execution, and business development activities.

Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience managing Federal Government IT programs or enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Manage similar program within the Cloud, Data Science, AI/ML, Digital Transformation, or Enterprise Modernization space.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a client-facing leadership role with executive stakeholder engagement responsibilities.
  • Experience identifying growth opportunities, developing strategic customer relationships, and supporting business development efforts.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary technical teams of 30+ personnel.
  • Strong understanding of cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience leading programs involving AI/ML solutions, enterprise analytics, automation, or data engineering initiatives.
  • Experience managing Agile and ITIL-based service delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, cloud security, and modern application architectures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing program budgets, staffing, schedules, risks, and contract deliverables.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to translate business challenges into innovative technical solutions.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Public Trust eligibility required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or other cloud certifications.
  • AI/ML, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering certifications.
  • ITIL 4 certification.
