Family and Consumer Sciences Lab Attendant
Scope of Responsibility
The School of Health Sciences and Wellness (SHSW) is hiring two new Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) Lab Attendants who are responsible for hosting open lab hours in the FCS Lab, room 304 of the College or Professional Studies Building.

Specific Duties
  • Assist family and consumer sciences majors with class projects.
  • Operate lab equipment: Cricut, quilter, sewing machines, edible food printer, etc.
  • Maintain clean, organized lab space.
  • Assist FCS students with locating supplies and putting supplies away appropriately.
  • Report directly to Family and Consumer Sciences Professor, Susan Turgeson.
Skills/Requirements
  • Completed at least one FCS lab course.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Adaptability.
  • Critical thinking.
  • Confidentiality compliance (FERPA).
  • Available to work during open lab hours: Tuesdays or Thursdays every week during the academic school year from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Qualifications and Compensation
To qualify for this position, applicants must be in good academic standing with the University. The position requires the ability to work at least one of the open lab times during the fall and spring semesters. Hourly rate: $14.00/hour.
