The RCSA Program team within Enterprise and Operational Risk Management provides oversight and governance for Schwab's Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Issue Management programs. Through the establishment of program standards, methodologies, and risk management practices, the team enhances risk transparency, strengthens governance, and supports effective decision-making. As part of the broader Corporate Risk Management organization, this team enables effective risk management in alignment with Schwab's strategic objectives and risk appetite.

In this Senior Specialist role, you will serve as a key enablement partner supporting the execution, optimization, and ongoing evolution of Schwab's RCSA Program. You will help drive program effectiveness through project and change management, risk data monitoring and analytics, adherence monitoring, and technology enablement initiatives that strengthen risk governance and operational efficiency. Working across all three lines of defense, you will coordinate and execute RCSA and Issue Management program activities, facilitate reporting and certification cycles, support MyGRC enhancements, and provide guidance and training to stakeholders. Success in this role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and data, thoughtful verbal and written communication, adaptability, and the ability to translate evolving program needs into practical solutions that enhance consistency, scalability, and the overall effectiveness of the risk management environment.

What you have

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Demonstrated ability to support and execute programs, projects, and change initiatives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders and communicate with leadership

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, including data analytics and visualization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience applying Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) methodologies and principles

  • Proven ability to exercise sound judgment, navigate ambiguity, and translate evolving program requirements into actionable outcomes

  • Strong organizational, relationship management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and influence across diverse stakeholder groups

  • Experience with SharePoint, Power BI, and GitHub Copilot
