To serve in a support role to the Security team with the primary responsibility to assist staff, children, volunteers, the church body, and others in accessing and utilizing campus and school amenities in a safe and secure manner and serving as facilitator for security related issues that arise.

You will:
  • Have Prior Law Enforcement or Military Experience. Five or more years of previous experience with an Honorable discharge is a plus
  • Have and maintain a Florida Class "D" Security Officer License and agree to attend and successfully complete all of the necessary training required to maintain the license. A copy of the current Florida Class "D" license should be provided
  • Have and maintain a valid Florida Class "G" Security Officer License and agree to attend and successfully complete all of the necessary training required to maintain the license. A copy of the current Florida Class "G" license should be provided
  • Obtain appropriate licenses to carry a gun and trained to properly use firearms if required to carry this equipment
  • Provide campus and school security during designated day, evening and/or weekend hours
  • Lock and unlock campus and school gates, buildings, and rooms as needed to access facilities for all events shown on the weekly calendar of events. Evening lockdown of campus and school facilities includes a thorough walk through of all buildings, turning off all lights and securing all interior and exterior doors
  • Be responsible to arm and disarm alarm systems and card reader systems in all buildings and areas of buildings where access is needed for scheduled events
  • Provide routine patrol of the main areas of the campus and maintain a visible presence during assigned work shift to observe and address any security related concerns and provide any needed assistance to staff, students, volunteers, and visitors
  • Document any unusual activities, incidents, injuries, or other pertinent information for review by the Director of Security and other Security Officers. Communicate necessary information to other staff and affected ministries
  • Work together with the Service Oversight, law enforcement officers, church staff, volunteers, CCA and the Facilities Department to provide security for all church services and ministry events
  • Serve as contact person for all campus and school security related issues. The Security Officer carries the Security cell phone and radio to be able to respond to questions or needs throughout their assigned shift
  • Commit to ongoing training to remain current on security procedures
  • Keep confidential matters confidential
