Overview

Role: School Maintenance Technician

Hours: Mon-Fri (7am-3pm)

Location: 215 East 6th Street, New York, NY 10003

Join Campus Services Group (CSG) as a School Maintenance Technician! In this role, you will perform general maintenance and repairs to ensure that school buildings and facilities remain in excellent condition. If you enjoy problem-solving, working with your hands, and contributing to a safe and conducive learning environment, we want you on our team!


Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain school buildings and facilities.
  • Perform general maintenance using basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, masonry, appliance repair, and electrical wiring.
  • Complete set-ups and tear-downs for scheduled campus events.
  • Operate and maintain tools used in the maintenance and repair of building facilities.
  • Perform on-call duties as needed/assigned.
  • Remove snow with shovels, blowers, and plows when necessary.
  • Provide logistical support for campus activities, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist with fire drills, lockdowns, and other safety exercises.
  • Help manage traffic flow and parking on campus.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in general maintenance or building trades (e.g., carpentry, plumbing).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible, friendly, with good communication and time management skills.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds, work from ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending, reaching, and crawling.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walk long distances across campus.
  • Experience in CMMS software program(s)
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, and reaching
  • Requires climbing and balancing
  • Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Must provide a criminal background check.
