Job description

Grand Canyon University! One of Arizona's leading institutions of higher learning.

Grand Canyon University is seeking a Academic Coach. This position will be located on the Schofield Barracks Army Base. The Academic Coach will provide support services to ensure compliance with regulatory standards for all creating a secure, supportive tutoring environment. We are especially interested in applicants who can strengthen the diversity of our academic community and integrate faith.

This is a temporary role that starts in August 2026 and is expected to end mid-December 2026.

Location: Schofield Barracks, Hawaii 96857

Pay: $30.00 per hour

What you will do:

  • Provide tutoring and support in English and Math to help candidates prepare for BSEP.

  • Collect and maintain candidate data related to tutoring assistance, assessment, and progress monitoring.

  • Provide feedback and coaching to help candidates improve their study habits.

  • Provide consistent guidance to candidates that align with program outcomes and requirements.

  • Maintain confidentiality of candidate records and services provided.

  • Utilize electronic resources like video-conferencing technology, and for scheduling candidates.

  • Clear communication with candidates, and Base staff

  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will have:

  • Bachelor's degree from accredited institution

  • Must be able to obtain personal military credentials for access to U.S. military bases.

  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
