Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and support multiple building projects from planning through execution. This role requires a strong understanding of subcontractor management, and field operations, as well as experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have a few construction projects under their belt performing subcontractor oversight for building projects, proactive in identifying and resolving issues, ensuring compliance at the site, and driving operational excellence with the team.  This is a great stepping stone into Project Management roles, and we provide mentoring with some of the best in the business to ensure your development stays on track.

Responsibilities

   Perform Contract Compliance, quality control & Field Oversight of subcontractors on the project
   Develop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.
   Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.
   Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues.
   Review subordinates' work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.
   Project Scheduling & Coordination
   Develop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.
   Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy.
   Document Control & Change Management, handle project closeout.
   Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents.
   Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor.
   Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation.
   Cost Forecasting & Financial Planning
   Prepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems.
   Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning.
   Operational Improvement & Leadership
   Recommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures.
   Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects.
   Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.

Qualifications

   Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required.
   Minimum 5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction is preferred.
   2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractors
   Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents
   Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative
   Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time
   Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
   Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt
   Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
   Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectives
   Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail
   Ability to travel and relocate as needed in the future

Base Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000

(Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)
