Production Planning & Scheduling Manager - Job Description:
The Production Planning & Scheduling Manager will oversee the planning and scheduling operations for' manufacturing sites. The role involves strategizing with the Production Planning and Scheduling team to achieve the company's delivery goals and optimizing scheduling processes.
Production Planning & Scheduling Manager - Responsibilities:
• Guide a team of Planning/Scheduling specialists to manage daily customer and inter-company orders.
• Schedule multiple mixed model, make-to-order, Value Streams to level load weekly requirements.
• Ensure alignment of weekly plant schedules with dedicated trucking schedules.
• Identify schedule constraints and collaborate with plant leaders to mitigate impacts.
• Manage customer requests for changes, cancellations, or expedites.
• Work with suppliers to establish lead times and gain customer approval on custom materials.
• Conduct lead-time analysis and publish weekly reports.
• Facilitate demand planning discussions and translate demand to operational requirements.
• Drive continuous process improvement within the Planning/Scheduling process.
• Document and maintain scheduling processes and procedures.
• Provide training on master production scheduling procedures.
Production Planning & Scheduling Manager - Mandatory Skills:
• BS/BA degree in business or engineering discipline
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling processes
• Advanced understanding of lean manufacturing/scheduling principles
• Proven leadership abilities and teamwork skills
• Proficient with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience preferred
