The Automation Project Manager is a cross-functional leader responsible for the overall success of the Solutions Projects - from initial scope/requirements definition and estimating, to technical management of the solution, and overall project management from receipt of order through project closure.
Ensures the projects are executed according to the Faith Technologies Solutions' Group Best Practices.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field

Experience: Eight (8) years' experience in:

  • The design of industrial automation control systems; or

  • The design of building automation control systems; or

  • The design of power/energy automation control systems (multiple distributed energy resources preferred)

and

  • Three (3) years' experience managing industrial, building, or power/energy automation projects including budget, scope, and schedule responsibilities

Travel: Up to 30% nationwide

Work Schedule: Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday; However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supports the proposal process as the Application Engineer, under the direction of department leaders:

  • Architects and finalizes the primary solution strategy

  • Utilizes internal and external Subject-Matter-Experts as needed to ensure the proposed solution is properly defined according to customer requirements, company best practices and industry standards

  • Defines and documents solution requirements which will become the basis for executing and managing the project

  • Develops the project estimate, utilizing internal and external resources as required, ensuring business targets are met

Leads the Technical Management of the solution:

  • Develops the detailed solution requirements

  • Develops the solution Block Diagram(s)

  • Develops the solution Theory of Operation

  • Develops the solution Verification Test Plan

Scope Management:

  • Ensures the solution meets the project (technical and business) requirements

  • Identifies and executes project Change Orders for all out-of-scope items

Financial Management (Budget):

  • Responsible for project profit and loss

  • Ensure project meets financial targets using various methods to gather and analyze data along with taking appropriate action(s)

  • Communicates project status to the client

Schedule Management:

  • Develops and maintains a project WBS and schedule with tasks, resources, milestones, and deliverables

  • Ensures resources are assigned to tasks and collaborates with other department leaders/managers, holding them accountable to meet and maintain commitments

Quality Management:

  • Ensures the Solution meets the project requirements and customer satisfaction

  • Conducts project closeout/success review and applies best practices forward

Develop and execute the Project Plan:

  • Communication Management with both internal and external (client, vendors, etc.) customers

  • Risk Management

  • Procurement Management

  • Documentation Management

  • Assists with the development of the Solutions' business best practices, policies, and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

  • Actively participates in Faith's hiring referral and mentoring program, as appropriate.
