Job description

Ledcor Industrial is more than a contractor-we're a powerhouse delivering fully integrated construction and maintenance solutions across some of Canada's largest and most complex industrial projects. From early planning through execution and close-out, we bring projects to life with unmatched expertise and a True Blue commitment to excellence.
As a Scheduler / Planner, you will play a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of large-scale industrial projects by developing, maintaining, and analyzing integrated construction schedules. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Field Leadership, you will ensure work is planned, sequenced, and executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with contractual milestones.
Ledcor's self-performing model-executing up to 90% of work in-house-provides planners with deep visibility into construction logic and real-time field progress across piping, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & controls, structural steel, concrete, underground utilities, civil works, scaffolding, and commissioning/startup.
Our industrial projects range from $50M to $1B+, offering planners exposure to complex phasing, multi-disciplinary sequencing, and long-term execution strategies. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive on turning plans into executable schedules, supporting decision-making, and driving predictable project outcomes.
At Ledcor, planning is not just a support function-it's a core driver of success. You'll join a team that values collaboration, accountability, and pride in building the future.
If you're ready to shape how work is executed and make a measurable impact, your next opportunity starts here.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and control detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, from early planning through project completion
  • Establish construction logic and sequencing in collaboration with Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, and Project Controls
  • Integrate engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities into a cohesive, fully resource- and logic-driven schedule
  • Monitor and track construction progress, updating schedules regularly and ensuring accurate reflection of field productivity and constraints
  • Identify schedule risks, critical path activities, and potential delays; develop and communicate mitigation and recovery strategies
  • Support Field Installation Work Package (FIWP) planning by aligning packaging, workface planning, and constraint removal with the master schedule
  • Maintain schedule baselines and support change management by evaluating schedule impacts of scope changes and variations
  • Provide schedule analysis, look-ahead schedules, and reporting to support project decision-making and client requirements
  • Collaborate with Project Controls to support progress measurement, forecasting, and earned value reporting where applicable
  • Participate in construction coordination meetings, planning sessions, and progress reviews
  • Support Health, Safety, and Quality objectives by ensuring realistic sequencing and execution plans
  • Assist with schedule close-out, final progress validation, and archival of planning documentation

Qualifications:

  • Engineering Degree, Engineering Technology designation, or equivalent construction or planning-related experience
  • 5+ years of experience in construction planning and scheduling on large industrial projects (Oil & Gas, Power Generation, Petrochemical, Potash, or similar)
  • Advanced proficiency with Primavera P6; experience with other planning, progress tracking, and document management tools is an asset
  • Strong understanding of construction means, methods, sequencing, and workface planning principles
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, and contracts
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess schedule impacts and recommend solutions
  • Strong communication skills with confidence interacting with project leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and clients
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic site environment
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to collaboration and continuous improvement

Work Conditions:

  • Site-based position on active industrial construction projects
