Job description

Job Responsibilities Develops plumbing maintenance and repair program throughout the facility. Performs maintenance on all sewers, water distribution systems, building storm drains and other systems related to plumbing or pipefitting. Supervises and installs plumbing and related systems in construction/renovation projects within the facility.

Establishes on-call procedures to respond to emergency plumbing maintenance and repair calls and ensures the work is promptly and properly performed. Supervises the operation and maintenance of plumbing facilities sewage disposal equipment to ensure compliance with standards prescribed by the SCDHEC. Determines requirements for plumbing supplies and equipment and prepares justification for and requisitions supplies.

Remains abreast of new plumbing techniques, procedures and equipment in his/her functional area and recommends the procurement of and assists in supervising the installation of new plumbing and sewage disposal equipment. Orients new employees and administers training. Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
