Job description

Location: This is an onsite position at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.
Schedule Shifts: Sunday - Thursday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or Tuesday - Saturday 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM.

As our HIM Associate II, you will deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and payors while upholding the utmost confidentiality for all patients. Your daily tasks will involve preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information to ensure the completion of health information and data. Your role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate and confidential health records.

Here's what you will experience working as an HIM Associate:

  • Receive, review, and process applications for birth certificates.

  • Verify identification and documentation to ensure legal compliance and authenticity.

  • Enter and update vital records information in secure databases.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all vital records.

  • Chart retrieval from all patient care areas, reconciliation, and follow-up of missing documentation.

  • Prepping, scanning, indexing, and quality control validation of all medical records.

  • Updates spreadsheets and data systems with updated content to maintain accurate information.

  • Exemplify caring and compassionate customer service to create an excellent patient experience.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) or vital records systems.

For this US-based position, the base pay range is $17.60 - $25.25 per hour . Individual pay is determined by role, level, location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
