Job description

The Scalehouse Operator is responsible for managing inbound and outbound truck scale operations, ensuring accurate documentation of weights, shipments, and inventory transactions. This role serves as a key point of contact for drivers, customers, and operations staff while maintaining efficient traffic flow and compliance with company procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate truck scale systems and accurately record inbound and outbound weights
  • Verify load information, shipping documents, purchase orders, and delivery tickets
  • Enter and maintain data within ERP, inventory, and scale software systems
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, dispatch, and warehouse teams regarding shipments and deliveries
  • Direct truck drivers to appropriate loading and unloading locations
  • Generate scale tickets, bills of lading, and other shipping documentation
  • Monitor inventory movements and report discrepancies or issues to management
  • Answer phones, assist customers and drivers, and provide general administrative support
  • Maintain organized records and filing systems for shipments and transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in scalehouse, logistics, shipping/receiving, transportation, or administrative support preferred
