Northrop Grumman is seeking an Online Technician / SCA Engineering Technician 3 to join our team in Yorktown, Virginia. This position is within the MK-48 Intermediate Maintenance Activity (IMA), which provides critical support to the U.S. Navy's Atlantic Fleet with an onsite repair capability for the MK-48 Heavyweight Torpedo. This is a government facility that is comprised of a mixture of Contractor, Civil Service, and Military personnel. The Online Technician will perform various maintenance actions using detailed procedures and will have oversight from a direct Manager. Key responsibilities include MK-48 torpedo assembly, testing and troubleshooting.
In this role you will be responsible for assembly and testing of MK-48 Torpedoes. The selected candidate will be expected to work both as an individual and as a team member to ensure system reliability and provide a last look of torpedoes at the facility. Examples of work to be performed are electrical & mechanical testing, cleaning & inspection, and joining of major components. All actions are to be performed in accordance with US Navy instructions.
Responsibilities:
  • Assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of MK-48 Heavyweight torpedoes
  • Troubleshooting / repairing component failures
  • Transport and safe handling of ordnance
  • Cable routing / installation
  • Meticulous cleaning and inspection of components
  • Achieve multiple qualifications
  • Follow governing computer-based job guides
  • Acquire and maintain CPR certification

Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and be able to wear steel toe shoes and other safety gear
  • Ability to pass an Explosive Handler Physical
  • Ability to obtain Arms and Ammunition Explosive Screening
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products such as Windows Desktop OS, Office Product suite
  • Ability to work in fast paced environment
  • Ability to work occasional overtime
  • Ability to work onsite in Yorktown, VA

Preferred Qualifications:
  • AA Degree / 2-year technical degree
  • 2 plus years MK-48 torpedo experience or technical school certificate
  • Other related experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $26.00 - $26.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
