Job Description:

In this role, you will assist in the maintenance of public parks, property, and rights-of-way using a variety of machines, tools and equipment.
Examples of Duties:
  • Works on a crew under general supervision.
  • Cuts lawns.
  • Trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
  • Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
  • Sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides.
  • Rakes and bags or burns leaves.
  • Cleans grounds and removes litter.
  • Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
  • Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears.
  • Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as lawn mower, spreader, and weed trimming equipment.
  • Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Six months related experience
  • Valid state issued driver's license
