SUMMARY

The Product Designer is responsible for creating K-12 print and digital product experiences. Collaborating with multiple teams is key to success in this role. A product designer should be able to take direction from written or spoken ideas and synthesize them into a design that connects. They may work with Design Leads, Illustrators, Multimedia Designers, UX Designers, Editors, cross-functional teams, and vendors under the Design Manager’s direction. The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of product design (combination of visual design, interaction design, and applications of Human-centered design) and branding, with the ability to shift the design approach depending on the project. Deliverables may include design prototypes (print and digital), design specifications, and any product design-related deliverables as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design the product experience of Savvas programs for both print and digital deliverables.

Work on a wide range of projects using various computer software to visualize and develop innovative visual and interaction designs that meet and exceed user expectations.

Incorporate usage analytics and feedback and apply them intelligently into interactive design solutions that optimize existing features and functionality.

Create thoughtful, user-centered, well-reasoned visual design solutions that embody the product strategy and user needs. Employ rapid prototyping techniques, including AI, to deliver multiple solutions that improve the learning and teaching experience.

Work independently and cooperatively on multiple projects with the design team, meeting deadlines and budget constraints, and scheduling project implementation based on workload.

Translate strategic direction into high-quality design within an established brand identity.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

1-3+ years of experience as a Designer required, preferably in a product development environment.

A Design Portfolio is required and should demonstrate experience and evidence of visual, UX, and UI design, usability best practices, rapid prototyping, and showcase product design from initial strategy through final detailed design application.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced culture with tight deadlines and shifting priorities.

Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, remotely, across multiple time zones, with a blend of expertise and shared mission.

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML, Figma, AI prompting, and other digital design tools.

Familiar with the latest WCAG accessibility guidelines and responsive design strategies.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to collaborate with other groups in a team environment (e.g. Instructional Design, Product Management, Editorial, Production, Marketing); Ability to self-manage and work independently; Detail-oriented with creative skills; Knowledge of design and typography.

Hiring Range: $64,000 - $80,000 + Bonus
