AWACS Field Service Representative/Mid-Level System Administrator - Defense - Saudi Arabia

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking an AWACS Field Service Representative/Mid-Level System Administrator - Defense - Saudi Arabia to provide technical support to the Royal Saudi Air Force AWACS Modernization Program (RAMP) at Prince Sultan Air Base, Saudi Arabia.

In this position as a Field Service Representative (FSR) you will be acting as a Mid Level Systems Administrator supporting the Royal Saudi Air Force with direct, "over-the-shoulder", technical support for the following systems; Mission Crew Training Set (MCTS), Ground Support System (GSS), Mission Computing Maintenance Trainer (MCMT), and two (2) Deployable Ground Systems (DGSs). The objective of this position is to identify and repair Ground Support & Training Systems (GS&TS) and return systems to fully mission capable status. The FSR will also provide support to troubleshoot, resolve, or assist in the resolution of RAMP GS&TS. The FSR will install, check-out, and test RSAF E-3 Ground Systems that align with the new Mission Computing Upgrade (MCU) airborne mission system capabilities.

FSRs are the in-person Boeing "face" to the customer, so personal appearance (grooming and dress), a helpful and friendly demeanor,and the ability to speak and write in a professional, unambiguous manner while working unsupervised for extended periods of time are paramount.

Working hours will nominally be 5-days a week (Sun-Th), 8-hours per day. Additionally, FSRs must be willing to work flexible hours (i.e. on-call 24 hours per day, and 7 days per week) as the job requires. Note that approved lodging is approximately90 to 120 minutes from the work site at Prince Sultan Air Base, but commuting times will be compensated up to two hours each way, daily. Deployment travel accompanying RSAF personnel within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is anticipated.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to Saudi Arabia for up to3 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided. Offerswill be contingent upon the candidate's ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit for Saudi Arabia. This also applies to any/all family members who may be relocating with the candidate.

You are applying for a Field Operations position where our employees must be willing and able (potentially short notice) to travel to a variety of locations (domestic and/or international) to meet the needs of our customers.

Field Operations employees may be required to relocate to another Field Operations location based on customer needs and/or management requirements.

Specific contracts supported by Field Operations could require employees to perform a deployment to a US DOD contingency operation. Employees associated with these specific contracts must be able to pass military contractor health standards for deployment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Resolving technical issues dealing withmission and ground systems, and support equipment.

  • Performs system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture

  • Administers users' system access and works to protect information to meet security requirements

  • Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A current U.S. passport

  • 3+ years' experience installing, troubleshooting, configuring, and administering Windows OS (Windows 10 and later)

  • Experience managing or working in a closed area/SCIF

  • Experience delivering priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • At the sole discretion of leadership, must be willing and able (on potentially short notice) to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Unless compelling reasons exist, failure to deploy/travel will be considered as a resignation.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience using Boeing web-based Information Systems such as My Boeing Fleet,VECTOR (technical inquiry request system), REDARS, and PSDS

  • Experience teaching peers in a non-classroom setting

  • Previous military experience or extensive familiarity with military operation and maintenance procedures

  • Experience with local customs and practices

  • 3+ years' experience implementing, troubleshooting, and administering software in a Windows desktop environment

  • 3+ years' experience providing basic network support and installing, troubleshooting, and configuring network devices such as switches, printers, and network-attached storage (NAS) devices

  • 3+ years' experience with Microsoft Office suite

  • CompTIA Network+ and/or Security+ certification

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country

  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable

  • Employment is contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country
