Job description

Sauder Cabinetry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Leader with a strong background in building products. This individual will be responsible for driving growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, focusing on large-volume orders and strategic partnerships with home builders and developers. The ideal candidate excels at building relationships and is highly organized with exceptional communication skills.  Cabinetry experience is preferred but not required.

Sauder Cabinetry is an expanding division of Sauder Woodworking, a 90+ yr old privately held, family owned, U.S. wood products manufacturer. Located in Archbold, OH, Sauder operates more than 4 million square feet dedicated to manufacturing and distribution. With advanced automated production lines, Sauder provides value-driven, American-made products specifically for the U.S. Residential Builder market. Additionally, the company’s strong background in importing enables them to offer tailored product bundles for individual customers.

This position may be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States. Expect extensive travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development:

  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities with home builders, multi-family developers, and other large-scale customers.
  • Develop strategies and programs to penetrate new markets and expand Sauder Cabinetry’s footprint.
  • Explore new revenue streams.
  • Conduct market research and analysis.
  • Participates in trade shows, sales meetings, or other special events.

Relationship Management:

  • Build relationships and creates strategic alliances with key decision-makers in the building products industry.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing product expertise and creative solutions.

Sales Execution:

  • Negotiate contracts and pricing for large-volume orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely delivery of products and services.

Product Expertise:

  • Maintain deep knowledge of Sauder Cabinetry’s product lines and industry trends.
  • Provide guidance and training to clients and internal teams on product features and benefits.
  • Understand manufacturing processes and operational impact of new business, strategies, or programs

Communication & Coordination:

  • Coordinate programs across internal stakeholders.
  • For new accounts, act as the primary liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project requirements.
  • Prepare and present regular updates on pipeline, forecasts, and market insights to leadership.
  • Facilitate the handoff of accounts when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years in business development or sales within the building products industry.
  • In-depth understanding of cabinetry products and the building products market.
  • Familiarity with home builder and multi-family development processes.
  • Proven track record of securing large-scale orders and managing complex accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills. 
  • Exceptional organizational and project management abilities. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.

PAY SUMMARY

  • Salary will be based on factors such as relevant experience and skills.
  • Commission and bonus eligible.
  • Car allowance provided.
