Investment Analyst

Help identify, evaluate, and execute acquisitions for a growing portfolio of enduring small businesses

Join Saturn Five

Saturn Five is looking for an Investment Analyst to join its Deal Team in Denver. The role is designed as an intensive early-career opportunity for people interested in investing, private equity, and small business ownership. You'll work directly alongside experienced investors on live transactions, getting direct investing experience and great exposure that is often difficult to access early in a career. We are currently deploying a $200 million investment fund focused on acquiring outstanding small businesses with strong cultures, resilient cash flows, and long-term growth potential. We emphasize stewardship over short-term optimization, we are a long-term-hold investor, we partner closely with management teams, and we prioritize the long-term health of the businesses we own.

The Role

As an Investment Analyst, you'll participate directly in the firm's acquisition process, from sourcing and evaluating opportunities to supporting due diligence and transaction execution, as part of a small, hands-on team. You'll work across a wide range of industries and business models, developing both analytical rigor and practical judgment through exposure to live deals and active portfolio companies.

This position is structured as a two-year role. We view it as an exceptional, foundational opportunity for someone pursuing a long-term investing career, or looking to build a great foundation for business school, entrepreneurship, or an operating role. That said, outstanding performance, combined with continued firm growth, may create opportunities for a longer-term role within the organization.

ResponsibilitiesInvestment Screening & Financial Analysis
  • Identify and evaluate acquisition opportunities aligned with the firm's investment criteria
  • Build and refine financial models to assess cash flow, capital structure, and investment returns
  • Conduct industry, market, and competitive research to support investment decisions
Transaction Execution
  • Support due diligence efforts across financial, operational, and commercial workstreams
  • Assist with debt financing processes, transaction coordination, and investment committee materials
  • Participate in the execution and project management of active transactions
Lead Development & Pipeline Management
  • Help cultivate relationships with intermediaries, advisors, and business owners
  • Maintain and organize the firm's acquisition pipeline and outreach initiatives
  • Contribute thoughtfully to sourcing strategy and market coverage

Why Saturn Five?

Saturn Five invests in small businesses because we believe they are economically and socially important. We seek companies with strong foundations and work closely with management teams to help them grow thoughtfully over time.

Our values, Adventure, Trust, Excellence, Love, and Joy, shape both how we invest and how we work together. We currently own controlling stakes in approximately 30 businesses and expect to expand significantly over the coming years.

More about our philosophy and approach can be found in our annual letters: Saturn Five Annual Letters

Qualifications:

We're looking for an intellectually curious, analytically rigorous teammate, who  is eager to learn and capable of taking ownership early in their career.

  • Undergraduate background in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • 0-2 years of professional experience following undergraduate studies
  • Prior exposure to investment banking, private equity, management consulting, transaction services, or corporate development is a plus
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Meticulous attention to detail, stellar project management abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High emotional intelligence
  • Self starter with a bias toward action
  • Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to leverage AI tools productively while maintaining independent critical thinking
  • Strong interest in small businesses ($2-$10MM in EBITDA) and long-term investing
  • Eager to gain hands-on experience in values-led investing
  • Willingness to work in person in Denver
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $80,000-$90,000
  • Annual bonus target: Starting at 10% of base salary
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Health and dental insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Coaching support
  • Monthly date night stipend
Location & Timing
  • Denver, Colorado (in-person)
  • Apply before June 15, 2026
  • Target start date:  July 2026
Are you a fit?

If you're hungry, humble, and smart, if you can take a joke (and give one), and if you think small businesses are important, we'd love to meet you; please apply!
